Aliev, Bagomed Gadaevich

Bagomed Gadaevich Aliyev was born in 1935 in the village of Urakhi, Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. He lost his parents early and was raised in various orphanages. He graduated from high school in 1953. In 1952 he entered the Dagestan Pedagogical Institute named after the People's Poet of Dagestan, holder of the Order of Lenin Suleiman Stalsky at the Faculty of History, which he graduated with honors in 1957.

He began his career as a teacher at the Sergokalinsky evening school. In May 1958, he joined the Dagestan branch of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism under the Central Committee of the Party. In connection with the closure of the Institute, he joined the apparatus of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, where he worked as an instructor in the organizational department from 1960 to 1961. Since the end of July 1961, he began to work at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences of the Dagestan branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences as the main scientific employee, where he still works today, i.e. has been working here for more than 56 years. The total scientific experience of more than 58 years.

Bagomed Aliyev's scientific interests in the Dagestan branch of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism under the Central Committee of the Party were connected with the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. At the Institute, he had to deal with the period of feudalism. His first topic is the unions of rural communities, which he had never previously been interested in.

In 1967 he defended his thesis.

After which he began to work on the history of Dargin villages, land relations in Dagestan in the 16th – 17th centuries, a general theme devoted to unions of rural communities in Dagestan, and feudalism in Dagestan. For the last decades, he worked on problems: the class-class structure and the state-political system in Dagestan, the history of the peasantry and the feudal class of Dagestan, etc.

In 1991 he defended his doctoral dissertation.

A whole series of works by Bagomed Gadayevich Aliyev is dedicated to Dagestan auls. He published them both in a book published in the Dagestan Book Publishing House in 1988 under the title Traditions, Monuments, Historical Sketches about Dagestan, and in a number of other publications in the republic. The pinnacle of scientific activity B.G. Aliyev on the study of Dagestan villages was a huge monograph (40 pp).

In 2004, he published a book together with Isa Ulakaev, doctor of historical sciences, entitled “Urakhs and Urakhintsy”. This is the result of their enormous, painstaking and many years of work to collect, analyze and generalize colossal material covering the history of one of the most widely known and large settlements of Dagestan - the village of Urakhi, which gave Dagestan and Russia famous party, state, military and socio-political figures, major scientists, athletes, teachers, poets, educators, etc.

In the first decade of the XXI century. B.G. Aliyev studied the peasantry of Dagestan.

In 2007, he published the monograph “Free Uzdatism of Feudal Dagestan”, which studies all the issues of socio-economic life of the largest category of independent peasantry: economic activity, land and social relations, etc.

For Bagomed Gadayevich the first one and a half decades of the XXI century. were very fruitful. Of the 15 monographs and 1 collection of articles published by him over all the years of his scientific activity, 8 were published in 2002–2014. These years were fruitful and other achievements in his scientific work.

He has published more than 600 scientific articles. Moreover, they are published in 20 cities of the Russian Federation and other CIS countries.

He is a regular participant at various levels of scientific conferences and sessions held in various cities of the country and in the CIS countries, where he spoke on various issues of the history of Dagestan of the feudal period of the country.

Over the years of work at the Institute of IAE DSC RAS ​​B.G. Aliyev led the training of graduate students and doctoral students. Under his leadership, 9 post-graduate students and applicants defended their dissertations, he was a scientific consultant to 4 doctoral students who also successfully defended their work.

To this day, he has taken and is taking the most active part in the socio-political life of both the Institute and the branch of the RAS and RD.

For his merits and great achievements in the field of historical science, Bagomed Gadaevich Aliyev was awarded the Veteran of Labor medal; in 2005, as stated in the decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, “For merits in the field of education, upbringing and science” - a medal of the order “For merits to the Fatherland” of the II degree, Honorary diplomas of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences, the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Presidium of the Dagestan branch of the Academy Science of the USSR, Presidium of the Dagestan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography, DSC RAS.
