Chokoyan [1] ( fr. Chokoyan ) is a small town and suprefecture in Chad , located in the Waddai region . It is part of the department of Ouar .

Geographical position
The city is located in the eastern part of Chad, east of the wadi Moyarum, at an altitude of 582 meters above sea level [2] . Shokoyan is located approximately 675 kilometers east-northeast (ENE) from the country's capital N'Djamena .
Population
According to the 2009 official census, the population of Shokoyan was 34,327 people (16,435 men and 17,892 women). The population of the prefecture according to the age range was as follows: 53.3% - residents under 15 years old, 42% - between 15 and 59 years old and 4.7% - aged 60 years and older [3] .
