Viktor Vasilyevich Chumak ( Ukrainian: Viktor Vasilovich Chumak ; born June 5, 1958 , Khmelnytsky ) - Ukrainian lawyer , major general of the justice reserve, MP of Ukraine of the VII and VIII convocations [2] [3] . Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Organized Crime and Corruption (2012–2014). In early September 2019, he was appointed to the post of head of the military prosecutor's office of Ukraine.

Deputy Head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Prevention and Combating of Corruption (2014–2016). Member of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption [4] . In March 2015, he was one of four official candidates for the position of Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine [5] .
Biography
Born on June 5, 1958 in the city of Khmelnitsky . He graduated from the Khmelnytsky Higher Artillery Command School (1977–1981) and the Law Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in Law (1990–1995). He studied European Union Law and Border Management courses at the German Border Police Academy.
Candidate of Law, Associate Professor.
“Lawyer of the Year” - 1999, 2000 - All-Ukrainian competition for the best professional achievement. The author of 37 scientific robots.
Until 2010 - Director of the Department of Political Analysis and Security of the International Center for Advanced Studies. Professional areas: security and defense, law enforcement , constitutional law , administrative law , military law , migration law , customs and border legislation.
In 1992–2004, he held senior positions in the State Border Service of Ukraine , and from 1981–1992, in command positions in the Armed Forces of the USSR . Since 2010 - Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Public Policy.
December 12, 2012 he became a People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VII convocation , running for and being elected from the party Vitali Klitschko “ BLOW ”.
On November 27, 2014, he was elected the second time as a People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation on the lists of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc in constituency No. 214 ( Kiev ), gaining 51.52% of the vote. On December 11, 2015, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Viktor Chumak a member of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption. In parliament, he was a member of the BPP faction, which he left on February 4, 2016 of his own free will.
In 2017, he was elected the leader of the public association “Civil Movement“ Khvilya ”” ( Ukrainian: Gromadyansky Ruh “Khvilya” ) [6] .
On November 1, 2018, Russian sanctions were imposed against 322 citizens of Ukraine, including Viktor Chumak [7] .
On September 11, 2019, by order of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine R. Ryaboshapka, an order was signed to appoint V. Chumak as Deputy Prosecutor General - Chief Military Prosecutor [ https://www.gp.gov.ua/ua/news.html?_m=publications&_c=view&_t= rec & id = 258030 ]
