Ivan Pavlovich Sikora ( September 19, 1885 , Malye Alashki - September 26, 1966 ) is a Russian and Soviet breeder. Honored agronomist of the BSSR (1956).

Biography
He graduated from the Polotsk Primary School and the Krasnogorsk Teacher School. He served in the Khabarovsk Territory . In World War I was at the front. In 1925 he graduated from the Krakow teacher courses. He served as a gardener of Count Pshezdetsky in Voropayev , where he began to conduct research on gardening.
On April 15, 1941, by the decision of the SNK of the BSSR, on the basis of the garden of I. P. Sikora, the northern stronghold of the Belarusian Research Institute of Potato, Fruit and Vegetable Growing was opened. Over 600 varieties of apple trees , more than 100 varieties of pears , 500 varieties of gooseberries were tested in the garden. Hybrid number 1377 became the pinnacle of breeding activity, the fruits of which were figuratively called “Apples of the 21st Century”. After the death of I. P. Sikora, the variety was named “ Memory of Sikora ”.
Awards
Ivan Pavlovich was awarded the Diploma of the Supreme Council of the BSSR, Diploma of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Big Silver Medal of the USSR Exhibition of Economic Achievements. In 1956 he was awarded the title "Honored Agronomist of the BSSR".
