The village is located on the Melovaya River, about 41 km in a straight line north-east of the regional center of the village of Ozinki (66 km by road) [2] .

History

The Melovskaya farm is mentioned in the List of Populated Places of the Samara Province according to 1889 information. The farm belonged to the Natalinskaya volost of the Novouzensk district of the Samara province [3] . According to the 1897 census, 886 people lived in Malakhovka, 797 of them Orthodox Christians [4] .

According to the List of Populated Places of the Samara Province in 1910, 483 men and 463 women, Russians and Little Russians , Orthodox and sectarians lived in the village of Melovoy, in the village there was a literacy school, 4 windmills [5] .

In 1919, as part of the Novouzensk district, it was included in the Saratov province [6] .
