Adler Arena (formerly the Olympic Oval Indoor Speed Skating Center ) [1] is a sports facility built for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . Located in the Olympic Park in the Imereti Lowland , in the Adler district of Sochi. During the 2014 Winter Olympics, the Adler Arena hosted speed skating competitions . In September 2014, the Tennis Academy began to operate on the territory of the Adler Arena.

History
Construction Progress
In May 2010, the preparation of the foundation began, which was laid by January 2011. From February to June 2011, the installation of metal structures was carried out. In July, roofing works began, which were completed in December 2011. From January to May 2012, the facade was lined. In July 2012, a concrete slab was laid for the ice field, in August chairs were installed in the stands. In autumn 2012, a modular pvc floor covering was laid on the inside of the ice arena, intended for warming up and award ceremonies, as well as along the perimeter of the ice treadmill and in the stands [2] In December 2012, the ice rink was completely completed and commissioned before the first starts - Championships of Russia in the classic and sprint all-around.
Opened at the end of 2012. The first official competition at the rink was the Russian Championship in classical all-around in December 2012.
Before the Olympics in the oval, as a test competition, the world championship in speed skating at individual distances was held in 2013 [3] .
2014 Winter Olympics
179 athletes from 23 countries took part in the Olympic skating competitions: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Latvia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, the Republic of Korea, Russia, the USA, and Chinese Taipei , Finland, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Japan. Team officials in the amount of 200 people (coaches, team leaders, doctors). Judicial team - 52 people. In total, more than 1,500 people were involved in the Adler Arena during the Games. 12 sets of awards were awarded. 13 rink records, 7 Olympic records, 2 Russian records and 14 personal records were set.
Adler Arena after the Olympics
On February 28, 2014, by the decision of the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, the specialists of the operating organization ITS LLC stopped the refrigeration equipment.
On April 19 and 20, 2014 at the Adler Arena, a match of the Federation Cup in tennis between the women's teams of Russia and Argentina [4] was held . President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishchev in April 2014 stated that he was considering the option of organizing a tennis center on the basis of the Adler Arena on an ongoing basis [5] .
April 24-27, 2014 at the Adler Arena, the Russian Championship in freestyle wrestling among juniors was held in 1994-1996.
On September 22, 2014, a tennis academy was opened at the Adler Arena. 9 courts will be located under the roof [6] .
Description
Standard 400-meter oval speed skating stadium with two tracks. 8000 seats for spectators.
The skating rink was built in Sochi Olympic Park , near the sea, at an altitude of 3 m above sea level. In the center: 3 VIP lodges with an area of 250 m², 12 equipped locker rooms with 15 athletes each. A tunnel leads to the center of the ice arena from the locker rooms.
The construction was carried out by the Center for the Transfer of Technologies of the Construction Complex of the Krasnodar Territory Omega OJSC.
The cost of construction is estimated at 32.8 million dollars.
