Sicuco ( Spanish: Cicuco ) is a city and municipality in northern Colombia , within the Bolivar department.

Content
History
Sikuko arose by combining the cities of El Limon and Punta de Cartagena in 1994 [1] .
Geographical position
The city is located in the central part of the department, on the banks of the canyon del Viola (Canyo de Sikuko) canal of the Magdalena River , approximately 150 kilometers southeast of the city of Cartagena , the administrative center of the department. The absolute height is 19 meters above sea level [2] .
The municipality of Sikuko borders in the south with the territory of the municipality of Santa Cruz de Mompos , in the north and east with the municipality of Talaigua Nuevo , in the west with the municipality of Maganga . The area of the municipality is 103 km² [1] .
Population
According to the National Administrative Department of Statistics of Colombia, the total population of the city and municipality in 2015 was 11,118 people [3] . The dynamics of the population of the municipality by years:

According to the 2005 census, men made up 52.1% of the Sikuko population, women - 47.9%, respectively. In racial terms, blacks , mulattoes and Raisals made up 64.7% of the city’s population; whites and mestizos - 35.2%; Indians - 0.1% [4] . The literacy rate of the entire population was 79.3%.
Economics
The basis of the Sikuko economy is agriculture , oil production, the production of chemicals and plastics, logging, and fishing [1] .
54.5% of the total number of urban and municipal enterprises are trade enterprises, 31% are service enterprises, 14.4% are industrial enterprises, 0.1% are enterprises of other sectors of the economy [4] .
Transport
National Highway 78 runs through the city ( Spanish: Ruta Nacional 78 ).
