The Peace Prize of German booksellers ( German: Der Friedenspreis des Deutschen Buchhandels ) is an international award for literary, scientific and artistic figures for their contribution to the development of peace and mutual understanding between peoples. Established in 1949 , a prize of 25,000 euros is awarded annually by the German Book Exchange in the Frankfurt Book Fair . The award ceremony takes place at the Paulskirche church in Frankfurt .
