Kappar Khasenұly Ergaliev ; born October 17, 1932, Kamisty village, Zhanibek district, West Kazakhstan region , Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , USSR ) - Soviet and Kazakh scientist, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1988), professor (1998), academician NAS RK [1] (2003). Laureate of the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR in the field of science and technology (1982) [2] [3] .

Biography
Born in 1932 in the winter of the Shinali aul of Kamisty, Zhanibek district, West Kazakhstan region, KazASSR. In 1939 he entered the school of the collective farm. On May 1, grades 2–3 studied at the primary school on the Agartu collective farm, in 1946-1948 he studied at the incomplete secondary school of the Mashtak central estate of the Talovsk state farm No. 452, and in 1951 he graduated from high school in the village of Zhanybek . After graduation, he entered the Kazakh State University. S. M. Kirova , initially in economics, and a year later, in 1952 - at the Faculty of Geology and Geography, which he graduated in 1956. In the same year he became a senior laboratory assistant, in 1958-1968 he was a junior researcher, in 1968-1977 - a senior researcher at the Institute of Geological Sciences. K. I. Satpayev Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR . Since 1960, a full member of the All-Union Paleontological Society [3] .
In 1967 he defended his thesis on "Stratigraphy and biostratigraphy of the Cambrian and tremadok of the Baikonur-Karatau-Zhabaglinsky zone of East Kazakhstan" at the Joint Geological Scientific Council of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR (Alma-Ata) [4] .

Since 1981 - Corresponding Member, since 1990 Full Member with the right to vote, UNESCO International Sub-Commission on Cambrian Stratigraphy of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS).
In 1982, he, together with a group of fellow geologists ( Bandaletov S. M. , Bespalov V. F. , Ivshin N. K. , Nikitin I. F. and Borukaev R. A. - scientific adviser), was awarded the State Prize Kazakh SSR for the work " Stratigraphy and Paleontology of the Lower Paleozoic of Kazakhstan " [5] .
In 1989 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the subject “Cambrian of South Kazakhstan and Ulytau: Stratigraphy, longline and zonal partitioning, trilobites” at a meeting of the Specialized Council D.002.50.02 at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences ( Novosibirsk ) [6] .

In 1995–2011 - Head of the Laboratory of Regional Geology, LLP “Institute of Geological Sciences named after K. I. Satpayev "Parasag" JSC of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan .
Since 1998 - Professor, specializing in geology and mineralogy. In 2003, he became a full member (academician) of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan , since 2008 - full member (academician) of KazNAEN [3] .
