The flag of Dubrovnik ( Croatian Zastava Dubrovnika ), also known as the Flag of St. Blasius ( Croatian Zastava Svetog Vlaha ) [3] is the official flag and historical symbol of the city of Dubrovnik . The flag was approved as official in the 1990s [1] ; its origin is from the flag of the Republic of Dubrovnik . The flag was first mentioned in the Statute of Dubrovnik in 1272 [3] , and it was used until the Republic was abolished in 1808. The second historical flag is the Libertas flag (from lat. - “Freedom”), named after the motto of the city, and is used along with the flag of St. Blasius.
