It was founded in 1880 and was first called City Creek. The building of the district court was built in 1903.

According to the 2010 census, the Junction population was 191 people (of which 47.6% were men and 52.4% were women), the city had 68 households and 48 families. On the territory of the city were located 115 buildings with an average density of 3.0 buildings per square kilometer of land. Racial composition : white - 96.9%, Asians - 2.6% [1] .
The population of the city by age range according to the 2010 census was as follows: 34.6% - residents under 18 years old, 2.6% - between 18 and 21 years old, 46.6% - from 21 to 65 years old and 16.2% - at the age of 65 years and older. The average age of the population is 33.9 years. For every 100 females in Junction, there are 91.0 males, while for 100 adult females there are already 86.6 males of comparable age [1] .
