Location Khubushka

Khubushka is an ancient Hurritan region [1] and kingdom in the valley of the river Bokhtan , the name apparently means “valley locality” [2] . Buffer independent state, from the IX century. BC er preserved in the Armenian Highlands in the valley of the river. Kentrite-Bokhtana between Assyria, and Urartu, as well as Phrygia, which these powers either could not subdue, or subdued only for a short time and could not be kept in submission. Played a certain role in the emergence of the later Armenian statehood. [3]

It was located in the south of the Armenian Highlands , in the Taurus Mountains, in the upper reaches of the Tigris River. Not part of the related kingdom Biaynili , retaining independence. [4] In Assyrian sources, the repeated receipt of tribute from the Khubushki kings of Dates (Dadi) and Kakia Ashurnasirapal II and Salmansar III , and from the king Ianzu Sargon II is described.

Subsequently, in the center of Khubushka is located the country and the city of the same name Mokk . [5] The heirs of the kingdom of Khubushk were two Armenian principalities Moghk ( Moks ) and Andzevatsik . Then his territory became part of the Vaspurakan kingdom .

It has now been recognized that the beginnings of Armenian statehood go not only in the epoch of the fall of Urartu and Assyria, but also deeper. Any Hurrian , Urartian or Luvian state on the territory of the Armenian Highland can be considered as the germ of Armenian statehood - and these states were also created not by ethnic groups alien to Armenians , but by people whose descendants joined the Armenian people , although they themselves spoke other languages [6] .
