Geographical position
The city is located in the southeastern part of Chad, north of Wadi Korom (Bahr Korom), west of Wadi Avis, at an altitude of 508 meters above sea level [5] . Abu Deya is located approximately 456 kilometers east-southeast (ESE) from the country's capital N'Djamena .
Climate
The climate of the city is characterized as semi-desert hot ( BSh in the Köppen climate classification ). The average annual temperature is 27.9 ° C. The average temperature of the coldest month (January) is 25.3 ° С, the hottest month (April) is 31.9 ° С. The estimated long-term rainfall is 772 mm. During the year, the amount of precipitation is unevenly distributed, the bulk of them falls from May to October. Most precipitation falls in August (250 mm) [6] .
Population
According to the 2009 official census, the population of Abu Dei was 27,034 people (12,795 men and 14,239 women). The population of the prefecture according to the age range was as follows: 52.4% - residents under 15 years old, 42.3% - between 15 and 59 years old and 5.3% - aged 60 years and older [7] .
