History
The museum was created and first opened to the public in 1974. The museum building has a research center (ศูนย์ บริการ เอกสาร และ ค้นคว้า), the secretariat of the House of Representatives, and the library of the Thai parliament.
In 1976, it was supposed to move the museum to the throne room of the Throne Hall of Ananda-Samakhom , the former parliament building, but this was prevented by the ongoing reconstruction there.
In 1978, the museum was transferred to the B building (ตึก บี) of the Parliament House.
In 1980, a statue of King Prachadipok (Rama VII) was erected in front of the parliamentary building 1 (อาคาร รัฐสภา 1) of the house of parliament, and behind it was opened the Museum of King Prajadrik, which presents the personal belongings of the King.
In 1984, Ukrret Mongkolanavin, the then Chairman of the Thai National Assembly, proposed moving the Parliament Museum to the Ananta Samahoma Throne Hall. After the repair in the throne room, the museum was there from December 10, 1984, after which it was again transferred to the House of Parliament, where it was in the same room as the museum of King Prajadrik.
The King Prajadric Museum moved to the new building on Lan Luang, located near Phan Fa Bridge, in 1998.
