Biography

Claude Lelouch was born on October 30, 1937 in Paris . Father Simon Lelouch - Algerian Jew , mother Charlotte (née Abelard) converted Jew [1] [2] . Debuted as an operator of short films . At the age of 13, he received the prize of the debut competition at the Cannes Film Festival . In 1956, Claude Lelouch became the author of a report on the USSR, “ When the Curtain Rises, ” filmed by him with a hidden camera , which was bought for display on French television. The debut directorial work in the full-length cinema - " Human Essence " ( 1961 ) - was not particularly successful.
