Biography
In 1912 he graduated from Cambridge University , in 1924 - Staff College, in 1928 - Imperial Defense College. In military service since 1913. Member of the First World War .
In 1918, Tedder was credited to the British Air Force. In 1918-1919 he served in Egypt, in 1926-1927 - in the Ministry of Aviation. Since 1934 - head of the flight training department, commander of the Air Force in the Far East. Since 1938 - Head of the Research Department of the Ministry of Aviation.
Since the beginning of the Second World War - head of department at the Ministry of Supply. In 1940-1943 - deputy commander and commander of the Air Force in the Middle East and the Mediterranean , commander. Since 1944 - Deputy Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force . On May 8, 1945, together with Marshal Zhukov, he signed the Act on Unconditional Surrender of Germany .
After the war - chief of staff of the British Air Force. In 1950-1951 - a member of the NATO Military Committee and a member of the British military mission in Washington .
