Birth
Death

The Syrian, who worked in the monastery of Anaton, after being elected patriarch, stayed in the monastery on Mount Tabor .

He was inclined to Monophysitism and held in relation to the Holy Trinity views similar to those of Savellius . “The Divine,” he said, “of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is one single entity, so the three faces of the Trinity are not God, each in itself and separately, but only when they are connected together.” The adherents of this view were called Damianites. Their opponents called them tetradites , because they recognized four Gods — the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit and the Divine Being, in which all three persons united.
