The People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Chad first established bilateral relations in 1972. States maintained relations until 1997, when China broke ties due to Chad recognizing Taiwan . Chad's Chinese Development Finance
After the resumption of diplomatic relations with China in 2006, Chad received US $ 219 million in funding from China. [6] This amount includes:
- Economic and technical cooperation in the amount of USD 80 million on loans and debt relief [7]
- A loan of $ 92 million for the construction of a cement plant. [eight]
- Building a road network in N'Djamena by a Guangdong construction company [9]
