Most of the Olympic licenses for the 2018 Games were distributed according to the results of the performance of athletes in the framework of the 2017 World Cup [1] . According to its results, the Georgian team was able to win one license in men's single skating [2] , which was made possible thanks to the 13th place of Maurice Kvitelashvili [3] , who was subsequently selected to participate in the Games [4] .

Qualification of athletes for participation in the Olympic Games was carried out on the basis of the FIS special qualification rating as of January 21, 2018 [5] . At the same time, the NOC for participation in the Olympic Games could only choose the athlete who entered the top 500 Olympic rating in his discipline, and at the same time had a certain number of points, according to the qualification table [6] . Countries that did not have participants among the 500 strongest athletes could only apply for category “B” quotas in technical disciplines [6] . As a result of the qualification selection, the Georgian team won 2 Olympic licenses of category “A” [7] .
