Reviews of the performance

  • The theme of the new "Lord of the Flies" in the MDT can be called the theme of triumphant infantilism - one of the most relevant topics of today. Children who stubbornly do not want to grow up, take responsibility for their actions and decisions, are the main characters of the beginning of the XXI century. (Olga Egoshina)
  • Together with them, Dodin also fell into "unprecedented simplicity." And not by chance. In the new "Lord of the Flies" he does not investigate, does not have compassion. He works in the genre of disaster prevention, and this requires not subtle psychological, but grossly agitational forms. Otherwise, they will not hear. (Alena Karas)
  • Today, according to Dodin, the dangerous line beyond which people turn into animals has been successfully passed. To warn too late - it is time to expose. (Dmitry Renansky)
  • Dodin in this performance is not interested in a private fate. He thinks bigger, in the format of the whole world. In the world, in his opinion, there is no tendency to improve. Most likely, an abyss lies ahead. These are the results that must be acknowledged to have great courage. Leo Dodin has it. (Pavlyuchenko Katerina)
  • In the second Dodina version there are no children, there are small adults, there are dazzling glare of dozens of spotlights (obviously, reflections of a distant atomic war), and there is a director’s confidence that the victims of the catastrophe can only produce a new catastrophe. (Zhanna Zaretskaya)
