Team competition

Team competitions in alpine skiing will debut in the program of the Olympic Games. The national team consists of 4 athletes (2 men and 2 women). Team competitions are held as parallel competitions using the gates and flags of the giant slalom. The winner of each individual round brings 1 point to his team. With an equal score, each team receives one point. If an equal score takes place at the end of the tour (2: 2), the team with the best total time of the best woman and best man (or second best if the first have equal time) wins the tour.

  Snowboard

Compared to previous Games, the competition program has undergone a number of changes. Instead of parallel slalom , big-air competitions were added [27] . In all disciplines, with the exception of the men's snowboard cross-country, the number of competitors changed, the semi-final round was canceled, and in the freestyle finals, athletes began to make three attempts [28] . Qualification of athletes for participation in the Olympic Games was carried out on the basis of the FIS special qualification rating as of January 21, 2018 [29] . For each discipline, certain conditions were established by fulfilling which athletes could qualify for joining the national team to participate in the Olympic Games [30] . According to the results of the qualification selection, the UK team won 6 Olympic licenses [31] .

Shortly before the start of the competition in training, one of the contenders for the medal in slopestyle and big air Katie Ormerod broke her wrist [32] . Despite the injury, the athlete continued training, but the very next day Ormerod broke the heel in two places and dropped out of the Games [33] .
