Peter Martin Cornelius Rybner ( dates Peter Peter Cornelius Rybner , sometimes Rübner or Rubner ; October 6, 1855 , Copenhagen - January 21, 1929 , New York ) is a Danish - American composer, pianist and music teacher.

He studied at the Copenhagen Conservatory under Johann Christian Gebauer .
In 1884 - 1886 court pianist in Baden-Baden ; the ultra-patriotic Song of Kaiser ( German Kaiserlied , to the verses of Friedrich Julius Birbaum), which became famous (without the names of the authors), dates to this time. Of the more mature works of Ryubner, the violin concerto was most popular.
Concerted as a pianist. The early recordings of piano transcriptions of fragments from Wagner's operas performed by Ryubner have been preserved.
In 1904 - 1919 headed the music department at Columbia University .
