Ergenek

Ergenek is the yurt’s access door in the form of a wooden carved lattice, which is curtained with felt on the outside (a more modern double-leaf door with hinges is called sykırlauyk , “creaky”). Height - 1-1.5 m. Currently, "ergenek" is also the common name for the door of the yurt [1] .

The master who made the yurt usually did not make an ergenek, which was produced by special masters, " ergeneks " [2] . According to legend [3] , the master, who made both a yurt and a door, will die.
