Fredrik Schöberg ( Swede. Fredrik Sjöberg ; August 31, 1958 in Westerwick ) - Swedish writer, entomologist, journalist and translator. He works, among other things, as a literary critic in the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet . Schöberg lives on the island of Runmarjö in the Stockholm archipelago.

Fredrik Schöberg studied biology and geology . He specializes in taxonomy of flies from the family of beetles . The author of several fiction and journalistic books.
Schöberg’s novel “ The Malez Trap ”, combining the naturalist’s lyrical thoughts, a story about insect life and the biography of the Swedish entomologist Rene Malez, was best known. The book has been translated into English, German, Norwegian, French, Danish, Icelandic, Russian [1] , Spanish, Italian and Dutch. Schöberg was nominated in 2004 for the Swedish August Prize . In Russia, the same work was nominated for the Yasnaya Polyana Prize in 2016. The novel became the first part of the trilogy “The Way of the Fly Collector” (Flugsamlares Vag). In 2016, Schöberg received the Ignobel Prize "for the autobiographical trilogy on the joys of collecting dead and not yet dead flies" [2] .
Schöberg also owns translations from Norwegian , English and French .
