Nikolai Petrovich Bibikov ( 1806 - 1862 ) - Russian statesman, head of the Simbirsk and Kursk provinces.

Biography
He came from the hereditary noblemen of the St. Petersburg province - the Bibikovs . Parents: father Colonel, Porkhov landowner, county leader of the nobility [1] Peter Ivanovich Bibikov (1772-1834), mother Anna Alexandrovna, nee Panteleeva. The family had 2 more sons and 5 daughters; elder brother - Vasily Petrovich Bibikov resigned as lieutenant general; Three sisters did not marry, one was married to a relative Gavrila Gavrilovich Bibikov (17.2.1790-10.7.1850), the other to the Novgorod district leader of the nobility Alexander Alexandrovich Sukharev (22.7.1802-6.11.1862).
He entered the service on September 10, 1823 as a non-commissioned officer in the training and carabinier regiment; February 21, 1825 promoted to ensign. Since 1834, he served as adjutant to Lieutenant General D. G. Bibikov , who in 1837 was appointed head of the South-Western Territory ; “I successfully completed a number of important tasks: according to the Kiev Commission of Inquiry on secret societies and many others.”
In 1843, on April 14, he was appointed Volyn vice-governor , renaming from colonels to court counselors , but on July 6, 1844, with the rank of college adviser, he was appointed Kiev vice-governor - he served under the governor I. I. Funducle , considered the best in history, the head of the Kiev province. In this position, he became a state adviser , and on October 13, 1850, a full-time state adviser .
By the highest decree of December 10, 1852, at 44 years old, N.P. Bibikov was appointed correcting the position of Simbirsk civil governor . A year later, on December 10, 1853, he was approved in his post. Under N. P. Bibikov, considerable attention was paid to the improvement of the provincial city, thanks to the formation of the Simbirsk prison company; “It cannot be said that the work of the prisoners was quick, but it was done quite accurately and very cheaply, why almost all the most capital constructions in the city were executed by the labor of prisoners ...” The forces of the arresting company in 1853 completed the construction of the Peter and Paul Descent to the Volga, in 1854 the boulevard on Bolshaya Saratovskaya Street was defeated, in 1855 Karamzinskaya Square was landscaped. “In retribution of excellent, diligent service,” Bibikov was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 1st degree on August 18, 1854.
By the highest order of June 1, 1856, Bibikov was appointed Kursk civil governor and held this position until 1861. It was made April 17, 1860 as Privy Councilor [2] .
He had a family estate of 156 souls and 2230 acres of land. He died single from consumption on October 29, 1862 in Paris [3] .
