The 75th Golden Globe Awards for Cinematographic and Television Awards for 2017 took place on January 7, 2018 at the Hotel ( Beverly Hills , Los Angeles , California ) [1] . The nominees were announced on December 11, 2017. The ceremony was broadcast live on the NBC channel , and was first hosted by comedian Seth Myers [2] .
Guests and participants of the show came to the ceremony in suits and black dresses. In this way, they joined the Time's Up movement, which aims to protect against sexual harassment and discrimination in the film industry. In the speeches of the winners did not go without mentioning the scandal that shook Hollywood in the fall of 2017 [3] .
The honorary award named after Cécile B. de Mille for life achievements in the field of cinema was presented to TV presenter and actress Oprah Winfrey [4] . When receiving the award, Winfrey made a speech in which she spoke about the struggle of women for their rights, she also noted that the most powerful weapon is true. The greatest number of awards this year was received by Martin McDonagh - “ Three billboards on the border of Ebbing, Missouri ”, which won prizes in four nominations: for the best drama film, a female role in a drama film ( Francis MacDormand ), a second- person male role ( Sam Rockwell ) and best screenplay (Martin McDonagh). Guillermo del Toro was awarded the award for Best Director, who shot Fantasy “ Form of Water ”, which also received the second award for the best music ( Alexander Despla ). The best dramatic actor was recognized by Gary Oldman , who played the role of Winston Churchill in the historical biopic " Dark Times ". The prize in the category “Best film - comedy or musical” went to the tape “ Lady Bird ”, which also received an award for a female role in a comedy or musical ( Sirsha Ronan ).
In the television categories, the drama series “The Big Little Lie ” collected most of the prizes, taking 4 awards from 6 nominations.
