Sol Marcosson ( born Sol Marcosson ; June 10, 1869 , Louisville - January 10, 1940 , Cleveland ) is an American violinist .

Biography
A native of Kentucky . In 1887 - 1892 studied at the Berlin Higher School of Music with Heinrich de Ana .
Upon returning to the United States, he performed as a soloist and participant in chamber ensembles, including the Boston Mendelssohn Quintet and the Cleveland Philharmonic Quartet ( 1897 - 1928 ). In 1918 - 1919 was the first accompanist of the newly formed Cleveland Orchestra . In Cleveland, he also published music reviews in the Cleveland News newspaper and gave private violin lessons (Marcosson's students were, in particular, Louise Lincoln Kerr , Walter Logan , and the writer Ruth Livingston Hill ).
