Litter Prompot ( Thai สร ยุต ม์ พรหม พจน์ ; born August 16, 1949 [1] , Thailand ) is a Thai diplomat , ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to several countries, including the Philippines (1992-1998), 1 (Austria) ( 1998-2002) [1] , Russian Federation (2003-2007) [1] [2] , Germany (2007-2009).

Biography
Born in a family of entrepreneurs [2] . He received his primary education at the College of Wachiravuda, then studied in the United States at Cranbrook School in Michigan . In 1971 he graduated from Auckland University with a bachelor's degree in political science. In 1972 received the title of Master of Asian Studies at the University of Michigan . In 1991 he graduated from the National Defense College of Thailand [1] .
He began his career in the Office of the Secretariat of the Prime Minister of Thailand, where in 1972 he was appointed head of the information department. In 1976, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an attaché for the Economic Information Department of the Department of Economic Affairs. In 1977 he was promoted to the post of third secretary, in 1979 - to the post of second secretary [1] .
In 1980, he was sent to the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo as second secretary. In 1983, he became the first secretary of the embassy. In 1984 he was transferred to the Department of Political Affairs as the First Secretary of the East Asia Division. Since 1985, he took up the post of first secretary in the Office of the Secretariat of the Ministry, and then since 1986 he worked as an adviser to the Department of Political Affairs. A year later, he headed the department for European affairs in the department. In 1989, he was transferred by the Assistant Secretary of State to the State Department Secretariat. In 1990, promoted to ambassador [1] .
First appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Philippines in 1992, remained in that capacity until 1998. From 1998 to 2002, he served as the Thai Ambassador to Austria , at the same time serving as ambassador to Slovakia and Slovenia , as well as being the UN Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vienna . From 2005 to 2007, he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation, as well as to Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus and Georgia [1] [3] . In 2007, he headed the Thai Embassy in Germany [1] .
Work in Russia
Shortly after the arrival of Sorayut Prompot as ambassador, the visit of the Russian president to Thailand (the first visit to Thailand by the head of state) was prepared by his predecessor [2] . Over the four years of operation, the tourist flow of Russians has tripled, the first visit of the Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand to Russia was organized, the regional representative office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Russia and the CIS was prepared, and the introduction of a visa-free regime was one of the most important outcomes [4] .

Litter Prompot is married to Amaralak Prompot, has three adult children [1] [2] .
