Biography

Pupil of the Walnut-Zuev team “ Banner of Labor ”. In the championships of the USSR, he played 252 matches for Zenit.

The USSR played 2 matches for the USSR national team (with the Mexican national team on August 19, 1984, replaced on the 84th minute and on January 25, 1985 with the national team of Yugoslavia, played the entire match, having missed one goal from the penalty spot and one from the game).

In 1992-1993 he played in Finland for the Major League Club MuPa-47 . He helped the team to take the Finnish Cup in 1992 and become the silver medalist of the Finnish Championship in 1993. The club management was ready to continue to cooperate with the player, but refused to raise his salary, after which Biryukov returned to St. Petersburg [2] .

He played for the Estonian Tevalte and Lantana-Marlekor [3] .

He finished his playing career at age 42, accepting an invitation from Volgograd Rotor to become a goalkeeper coach, but six months later he was invited to St. Petersburg by Yu. A. Morozov , who had just headed Zenit. For two years, Biryukov was the chief assistant to Morozov, from July 5 [4] to August 26, 2002, he served as the head coach of the team. In February 2003, he headed the Petrotrest team with Morozov. Since 2006 - goalkeeper coach at Zenit.

The only Zenit player involved in all six championships of the team - as a player in 1984 and as a goalkeeper coach in 2007, 2010, 2012, 2015 [5] [6] , 2019.
