Biography
Born in 1901 in Riga . Member of the CP of Latvia since 1920.
Since 1919 - revolutionary, arrested, released, exiled to the USSR; in economic work, in responsible positions in the Red International of trade unions; at the underground work in Latvia, secretary of the underground Central Committee of the Communist Party of Latvia, arrested, released, 2nd secretary of the Central Committee of the CP (b) of Latvia, secretary of the Central Committee of the CP (b) of Latvia on industry, for propaganda and agitation, board member of the Union of Writers of the USSR, editor of “Par Padomju Latviju” (“For Soviet Latvia”).
He was elected deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 1st convocation.
He died in May 1943 in the Valdai district .
