Arada [1] ( FR. Arada ) is a city and suprefecture in Chad , located in the Wadi Fera region . It is part of the Biltin department.

Geography
The city is located in the eastern part of Chad, at a distance of approximately 676 kilometers northeast of the country's capital N'Djamena . The absolute height is 508 meters above sea level [2] .
Climate
The climate of the city is characterized as arid hot ( BWh in the Köppen climate classification ). The average annual temperature is 29.2 ° C. The average temperature of the coldest month (January) is 24.1 ° С, the hottest month (May) is 33.1 ° С. The estimated long-term rainfall is 189 mm. Throughout the year, the amount of precipitation is unevenly distributed, most of which falls between May and September. Most precipitation falls in August (92 mm) [3] .
Population
According to the official census of 2009, the population of Arad was 18 108 people (8985 men and 9123 women). The population of the city by age range was as follows: 54.9% - residents under 15 years old, 40.1% - between 15 and 59 years old and 5% - aged 60 years and older [4] .
