He began his sports career as a Muay Thai fighter, performed under the pseudonym Pimaran Sitharan ( Thai. พิมพ์ อรัญ ศิษย์ อรัญ ), but ultimately decided to switch to amateur Olympic boxing.

The first serious success at the international level was achieved in the 1995 season, when he visited the Asian Championship in Tashkent and defeated all his rivals in the standings of the minimum weight category, including defeating the current champion from Venezuela Mansueto Velasco in the final, thereby winning the gold award dignity. In addition, he won the home games of Southeast Asia in Chiang Mai , became the silver medalist of the World War Games in Rome, and won the Acropolis Cup in Athens.
