Afghanistan Football Championship 2017

The Afghan Premier League 2017 ( English Afghan Premier League 2017 ) is the 6th draw of the Afghan Premier League (Afghanistan Championship) in football . Held from September 9 to October 27, 2017 . Eight football clubs participated, representing eight cities and regions of Afghanistan [1] .

For security reasons, all matches were held at the stadium of the Football Federation of Afghanistan , located in the capital, Kabul [1] [2] . This season, the championship matches had a record attendance - several thousand spectators gathered for the evening games, and more than 9 thousand people came to the final match, of which more than a thousand were women [3] . Championship matches were broadcast live on national television, their audience was several million people. For the first time in the history of the championship, the semifinal and final matches were held in the evening with artificial lighting [1] .

According to the results of the tournament, the capital “ Shahin Asmaye ” [1] became the winner for the fourth time in its history and for the second year in a row. The second place also for the second year in a row went to the club “ De Mivand Atalan ”. In the match for third place, the club won " De Spingar Bazan ", in the previous tournament draw, who failed to leave the group [3] . “Shahin Asmaye”, unlike the previous year, having won the championship, did not get the opportunity to compete in the AFC Cup in 2018 , since the AFC introduced new club licensing requirements [4] .

The best scorer of the championship was the football player of “De Maiwand Atalan” Amrudin Shafrei, he also received the prize for the best player of the tournament. Hamidulla Vakili, who also played for Atalan, was recognized as the best goalkeeper, and the prize for an honest game went to the Tufan Harirod team [3] .
