Biography
He graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Department of Moscow University (1900). He began teaching activities as a teacher at a real school in Moscow (1901). Hired at Moscow University . Herbarium keeper of Moscow University (1905–1913). Professor of the Department of Botany, Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow State University (1918–1930). Professor, Department of Morphology and Systematics of Higher Plants / Higher Plants, Faculty of Biology (1933–1956).
Doctor of Biological Sciences. Corresponding member of the department of teaching methods of basic disciplines in primary and secondary schools of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the RSFSR (1944).
Honorary Member of the Moscow Institute of International Relations (1948)
Research interests: botany, paleobotany, methods of teaching botany in higher and secondary schools.
He taught courses at the university: “Introductory course on botany”, “General geography of plants”, “The doctrine of fossil plants”, “Definition of flowering plants”, “Plant paleontology”.
At the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, he worked out problems of plant morphology and systematics and questions on the methods of teaching botany in high schools and higher educational institutions, and supervised the compilation of botany textbooks for zootechnical and veterinary universities. Krechetovich also translated scientific and methodological works and textbooks of botany from English, German, and Danish.
He was buried at Vvedensky cemetery .
