Description
Initially, the painting was in the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli of the Florentine monastery, which belonged to the kamaldulam monks.
The painting depicts the episode of the Coronation of the Virgin by her son Jesus Christ . The vault of heaven depicts clouds and stripes of stars of different shades of precious blue. Lorenzo Monaco was also a miniaturist, and his skill is especially noticeable in this predella . Since this work was subjected to too much cleaning twice, the greens of the primer appeared on some faces of the characters, which the artists applied under the skin tones.
