Anna Polona

Anna Polona [1] ( Dutch. Anna Paulowna [ˈannaː pɑu̯ˈloːnaː] [2] , Dutch pronunciation ) Is a city and former community in the Netherlands , in the province of North Holland . The community received this name from the polder Anna Polon , who was drained in 1846 during the reign of King Willem II , and named after his wife, Queen Anna Pavlovna (daughter of the Russian Emperor Paul I ). The community itself existed in the years 1870-2012.

The total area of ​​the community is 78.81 km², of which 74.43 km² of land and 4.38 km² of water; the population as of January 1, 2007 is 13,999, the density is 188 people per square kilometer. The Anna Polona Community Council consisted of 15 deputies. The population of the city according to the 2010 census is 7380 people. The population of the community is 14252.

In 2012, the community became part of the new Hollands Cron community.

Economics

For most citizens, the main source of income is the cultivation and sale of tulips.
