Disenchantment is an American fantasy animated series for an adult audience created by Matt Graining [1] . Netflix ordered 20 episodes of the series [2] , the first ten premiered on August 17, 2018 [3] [4] . October 22, 2018 Netflix officially extended the series for the second season, which will be released in 2020-2021 [5] . It is also known that the second part of the first season will be available for viewing on September 20, 2019 [6] .

Story
The series tells the story of the alcoholic princess Bean, her elf companion Elfo and the "personal demon" Lucy, who live in the medieval kingdom of Dreamland [7] .
Characters
Princess Tiabini Mariabini De La Roshambi Drankovich / Bean is the main character of the series. Princess of Dreamland. Has a strong addiction to alcohol.
Elfo is the protagonist of the series. Half elf. Elves are fleeing from their homeland because they want to know "human misfortune." A good friend of Bean, he tries to protect her from troubles or from Lucy's harmful advice. Secretly in love with her, but she does not reciprocate. It has long been the subject of research by the royal magician, as the blood of elves contains magic.
Lucy is Bean's “personal demon,” which everyone else takes for a talking cat. Bean constantly indulges in vices and in every possible way tries to drag her into a new adventure.
King Zog is the king of Dreamland and father of Bean.
Queen Una is the Queen of Dreamland, the second wife of King Zog, stepmother Bin. Una is an amphibian creature from the kingdom of Dankmire. She was married by the king of Dreamland in order to strengthen the union between the kingdoms.
Queen Dagmar - Queen of Drimland, the first wife of King Zog, Bin's mother. Accidentally took poison destined for King Zog, and turned into a stone statue. For fifteen years, King Zog tried unsuccessfully to return his spouse.

Di Maggio, West, Lamarche, McNill and Herman had previously worked with Graining on the series Futurama . Fielding, Fulcher, Berry and Montgomery starred together in the British series The Mighty Boosh and IT Crowd (Berry, Fielding and Montgomery).
Production
The animated series from the creator of the TV series " The Simpsons " and " Futurama " Matt Graining is "shot in his corporate style." Animation was done by Rough Draft Studios , responsible for Futurama [8] . In July 2017, it became known that the indigenous Australian rapper Briggs is part of the creative team of the project [9] .
Reception
So far, the series has received mixed reviews from critics based on the first seven episodes. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has a 60% rating based on 15 reviews with an average rating of 6.21 out of 10. The consensus of critics on this site says: “Disenchantment shows enough of Matt Groening's signature humor to satisfy the fans, at the same time, general familiarity and a disappointing risk aversion to risk may not bode well for future seasons. " On Metacritic, the series has a rating of 56 out of 100, based on 7 reviews, meaning "Mixed or average reviews." Forbes called the series "Charming, Unique, and Superb." Ars Technica noted that the series begins shaky, but then becomes "damn good." Entertainment Weekly rated the series "C" by comparing it to the extended story of Tree of Horror. Den of Geeks wrote a mostly mixed review, praising it for the concept, but criticizing some of the jokes.
At the end of 2018, the series “Disappointment” was included in the ranking of the best series of the year published by the editors of the site “ Kinopoisk ” [10] .
