Content
History
In the "Alphabetical List of Populated Areas of the Don Don Region", the settlement is mentioned as the Kalach farm of the Ust-Medveditsky okrug at the Kalach beam, located 140 versts from the district village of Ust-Medveditskaya . In Kalach there were 9 yards and 80 people lived (42 men and 38 women) [2] .
In 1928, the Kalachik farm was included in the Danilovsky district of the Kamyshinsky district (abolished in 1930) of the Lower Volga region (from 1934 - the Stalingrad region , from 1936 - the Stalingrad region) [3] . In the period from 1935 to 1963, the farm was subordinate to the Vyazovsky district [4] . As of 1964, Kalachik was part of the Bolshevik village council of the Elansky district [5] .
Geography
The farm is located in the northern part of the Volgograd region, within the Khopersko-Buzuluk plain , on the southern shore of the Sapozhok pond, at a distance of about 38 kilometers (in a straight line) south of the urban-type village of Yelan , the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 157 meters above sea level [6] .
