Evgenia Filippovna Deryugina ( October 26, 1923 , Simferopol - May 7, 1944 , Balaklava ) - foreman of the second article , medical officer of the 83rd Marine Brigade. Member of the defense of Odessa and Sevastopol , died during the assault on the Sapun Mountains .

Biography
Evgenia Deryugina was born in Simferopol.
She is a graduate of railway school No. 98 (now school No. 35), then studied at the Sevastopol Shipbuilding College. She graduated from nursing courses.
The first battle took near Odessa. I went to reconnaissance behind enemy lines. Near Odessa, she received her first medal “For Courage”:
Once the ship came under another raid of enemy aircraft and caught fire. They began hastily transporting the wounded to boats. The unloading was almost finished when the seriously injured commander said that a package of valuable documents remained in the cabin. Hearing this, Eugene quickly returned to the burning ship, found and hid a bag under her clothes, but did not have time to get out onto the deck - she lost consciousness. There, one of the team members found her and carried her in a boat in her arms. So Zhenya got his first military award - the medal “For Courage” [1] .
Then she was wounded, underwent treatment in Sevastopol.
Soon she took part in the defense of Sevastopol, at positions near Balaklava . She was evacuated with a brigade to Novorossiysk , participated in battles on Malaya Zemlya .
In April-May 1944, with the shock battalion of the 83rd Marine Brigade, Yevgeny Deryugin participated in the hottest battles. In just a few days (from May 3 to 7) she carried out eighty wounded from the front line.
Doom
Eugene was killed by a sniper. They buried her in Balaclava; later, at the request of relatives, her ashes were reburied at the Starorussky cemetery of Simferopol .

Memory
Streets in two cities are named after the girl: Sevastopol [2] (appeared on May 6, 1969) and Simferopol [3] (1975).

The painting in a marine uniform depicts a medical instructor Yevgeny Deryugin — a former student at a shipbuilding technical school. In the period from May 3 to 7, Eugene carried 80 wounded soldiers from the battlefield. She died from the bullet of a fascist sniper.

In her honor, the Sevastopol College of Medicine was named [4] .
