Mott, Henri-Paul

Born in Paris. He was a student of the artist Jean-Leon Jerome . He painted pictures on historical subjects, began with salon painting. Exhibited in the Paris Salon since 1874. Most famous for his painting on the siege of La Rochelle , on which he depicted Cardinal Richelieu , he finished it in 1881. In 1892 he became a knight of the Legion of Honor . At the World Exhibition in 1900 he was awarded a bronze medal.
