Career

Ilan was born into the family of William Dall'Ign [1] , who was a coach of the youth squads of the Parana club [2] . There, the football player began his career. In 1999, Ilan made his debut in the main club in a match with Koritiba [2] . A year later, the player helped the club win the yellow module of the Joao Avelange Cup . In 2000, Ilan moved to São Paulo , who saw the footballer replacing Marcelinho Paraibe , who left for Marseille . In the first season, the forward was a player in the starting lineup, but a year later he had already “settled” on the bench, giving way to the start of Luis Fabiano . Then he won with the team at the Rio São Paulo tournament . After that, Ilan returned to Curitiba, becoming a player in Atletico Paranaense . In the first season, he often remained on the bench, however, replaced Kleber in the first final match of the Brazilian championship and scored a goal already at the 4th minute of the meeting [3] . In 2002, the player missed more than six months due to an injury [2] . In 2003, he returned to the field and became a player in the starting lineup. That season, the player spent so well that he was even called up to the Brazilian national team for the Confederations Cup , where he held three meetings. He also became the club’s top scorer of the season, scoring 24 goals [2] . In total, he scored 47 goals for the club [4] . In July 2007, Messina announced the purchase of a Brazilian with the signing of a contract for 3 years, but the transaction did not take place [5] .

In mid-2004, Ilan was transferred to the French club Sochaux , who paid 3 million euros for the transfer of the Brazilian [6] . On August 21, he made his club debut in a match against Auxerre (1: 2). On October 16, Ilan scored his first goal, hitting the Rennes goal, while the player scored 2 more goals in the same meeting [7] [8] . Guy Lacombe, the head coach of the team, said about the Brazilian: “It will not take long to see that he is a very smart boy. Eight months later, he already learned our language, while some foreigners have years before they can say two words. Ilan is a boy who knows what he wants, and we feel that he has a deep desire to succeed in France or Europe, and that he will make every effort to achieve this ” [9] . In the club, the striker spent two seasons, scoring 24 goals in 54 matches. In 2006, the football player was bought by the Saint-Etienne club for 6 million euros [6] . On August 5, the player made his team debut in a match with his former club, Sochaux (1: 2). August 19 scored his first goal, bringing victory in the match with Nancy (1-0) [10] . In the first season, the player received a prize for the best goal of the season, scored on February 25 in a match with Paris Saint-Germain [11] . In the 2008/2009 season, Ilan became the team’s second scorer, scoring 9 goals and losing only to Gomis . In the summer of 2008, the player could leave the team [12] [13] , but still remained in the club. On January 18, 2010, the footballer and the club, by mutual agreement, broke the contract [14] . The reason was the criticism of the player himself, who blamed the leadership of Saint-Etienne for the lack of ambition and his misunderstanding of the role in which he would like to be seen in the team [15] ; while the head coach of the club Christoph Galtier did not see Ilan at the base of the club and did not bet on him [16] .

On February 1, Ilan signed an agreement with the West Ham United English team until the end of the season [17] . He became the first Brazilian player in the history of the London team [18] . On March 27, the forward made his debut for the club in a match with Stoke City (0: 1). And in the next game, on April 4, he scored a goal that brought the team a draw with Everton . At the same time, the footballer hit the opponent’s goal only 10 minutes after leaving the 77th minute of the meeting [19] . In total, he scored 4 goals in the team in 11 matches [20] . But the club decided not to renew the contract with the football player [21] , although the player himself wanted to stay at West Ham; however, during the season, the footballer criticized head coach Gianfranco Zola in that he “lost control of the team, especially over for players who speak Italian” [22] . In August 2010, Ilan returned to Brazil, where he became a player of Internacional , signing a contract until the end of the year [23] . But in the Brazilian championship, the footballer played only 4 meetings, having missed most of the matches due to injury. December 23, 2010, the contract of Inter and the attacker was terminated [24] [1] . At the age of 30, he left for the second time in France, signing a contract with Ajaccio [9] . On August 6, the footballer made his team debut in a match with Toulouse (0: 2). On August 27, Ilan scored the first goal for the team, hitting the goal of Auxerre (1: 4) [25] . The striker scored 6 goals in 26 matches, while he was absent on the field for two months due to an injury to the hip joint [15] . In 2012, the footballer moved to Bastia [26] [27] . On August 11, he played the first match for the team against Sochaux, and scored a goal on the 18th of the same month, bringing his team a victory over Reims (2: 1) [28] . In 2014, the player completed his career. He played the last match on May 17, 2014. In it, “Bastia” tied with “Nancy” 0-0 [29] .
