Service

Nikolai Karlovich graduated from the Naval Cadet Corps with the production of naval midshipmen on April 12, 1881 [1] .

February 18, 1902 took command of the schooner " Tungus ". On April 14 of the same year, he was promoted to captain of the 2nd rank.

January 12, 1904 passed the schooner "Tungus" and took command of the transport " Aleut " [1] .

With the outbreak of the Russo-Japanese War , on March 1, 1904 he was appointed commander of the transport department as part of the Vladivostok defensive detachment under the command of Rear Admiral N.A. Haupt, commander of the Vladivostok port. The structure of the department included: “Aleut”, under its own command; “ Kamchadal ” (2nd-rank captain A. A. Ryumin ); “ Yakut ” (2nd-rank captain A. A. Balk ); "Tungus", under the command of the commander of "Yakut"; " Reliable " - a former icebreaker (lieutenant colonel of the naval naval corps S. S. Chikhachev ) [2] . Further, in 1904, he left the post of Aleut transport commander.

May 6, 1906 retired with the production of captains of the 1st rank [1] .

From 1914 to 1917 in Petrograd he owned a boarding school for training in the Marine Corps [1] .

Family

  • Brother Tunderman Pavel Karlovich (06/14/1862-1905) - assistant commandant for the marine part of the Nikolaev fortifications at the mouths of the Amur River and head of the destroyer department and their teams, is excluded from the list of the RIF dead on 10/31/1905.
