Biography
Born on May 20, 1923 in the city of Vitebsk. He worked as a mechanic at the Vitebsk needle factory (now Vitebsk instrument-making plant ). In 1941 he went to the front. He graduated from the course of junior lieutenants . He fought on the Bryansk Central , 3rd Byelorussian and 1st Ukrainian fronts. He was commander of a motorized rifle company of the 24th Guards Mechanized Brigade.
Feat
Guards Lieutenant Svidinsky V.I. distinguished himself on September 25, 1943 during the crossing of the Dnieper . Svidinsky was one of the first to cross the Dnieper near the village of Domantovo, the Chernobyl district , the Kiev region . A group of fighters under his command, under enemy fire, reached the opposite bank of the Dnieper, captured and held a bridgehead on the right bank of the river, covering the crossing of the entire battalion. For this feat, the commander of a company of a motorized rifle battalion of the 24th Guards Mehbrigade ( 7th Guards Mechanized Corps , 60th Army , Central Front ) junior lieutenant Svidinsky V.I. On October 17, 1943 he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union .
March 25, 1945 V.I. Svidinsky died in battle in Germany. He was buried in the city of Lviv on the Hill of Glory , where the ashes of 26 Heroes of the Soviet Union rest.

- In Vitebsk, a street in the Oktyabrsky district is named after him
- In his honor, a memorial plaque at the entrance of the Vitebsk instrument-making plant and its bust on the plant's territory are installed.
