Marovsky, Ludwig Adolfovich

Ludwig-Karl Adolfovich Marovsky ( December 24, 1831 ( January 5, 1832 ) - April 2 ( 14 ), 1892 ) - Russian doctor of medicine.

Biography

The son of a Saxon subject.

He graduated from Kiev 2nd Gymnasium (1850) and the medical faculty of Kiev University of St. Vladimir (1855). Together with his professor H. Ya. Gyubbenet participated in the defense of Sevastopol . Then he served in a university clinic, was a doctor of the cadet corps ; improved education abroad. In 1858 he defended his doctoral dissertation.

In 1865 he was competitively elected professor of the therapeutic faculty clinic of the medical faculty of Kharkov University , and in January 1866 he was approved by the Minister. The director of the clinic was only two years old: dismissed by a denunciation of V. Lambl . However, once again passing the exams, since 1869 he was appointed Pskov Provincial Medical Inspector [1] . Then he headed the medicine of the Bessarabian province , where a medal for the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878 was added to the medal on the St. George ribbon for Sevastopol .

Since 1877, he has been a full-time state adviser [2] .

In 1880, he was appointed medical inspector of Odessa, was a vowel of the Odessa City Council, a member of the society of Odessa doctors. Along with I.I. Mechnikov and N.F. Gamaleya, he initiated the creation of the first bacteriological station in Odessa in 1886 to combat infectious diseases.

Since 1887 - professor of propaedeutics of the Kiev University of St. Vladimir.

He died in Odessa.
