Education

Space exploration

Preparation

  • He was included in the selection program conducted by the Air Force State Research Institute of the USSR for work in the Buran program. A medical examination was held at the Central Military Research Aviation Hospital (CVNIAG).

He made a long space flight from May 18 to October 10, 1991 as the crew commander of the Soyuz TM-12 transport vehicle and Mir OK under the program of the 9th main expedition (EO-9) and the Juno program. Further Training

  • April 24, 1992 - enrolled as a test cosmonaut-instructor in the 2nd group of the Air Force Cosmonaut Training Center. He was trained as part of a conditional crew together with Yu. V. Usachev .
  • July 1992 - appointed commander of the backup crew under the program of the 13th main expedition of OK Mir, but did not start preparations
  • On September 7, 1993, by order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, he was expelled from the cosmonaut detachment of the Cosmonaut Training Center of the Air Force of the Russian Federation and assigned to the Program Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) as an adviser, instructor-test cosmonaut of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
