Baha'i [1] ( FR. Bahaï ) is a city and suprefecture in Chad , located in the East Ennedi region . It is the administrative center of the Wadi Hawar department.

Geographical position
The city is located in the north-eastern part of Chad, near the state border with Sudan , at an altitude of 790 meters above sea level [2] . Bahai is located at a distance of approximately 923 kilometers northeast of the country's capital N'Djamena .
Climate
The climate of the city is characterized as arid hot ( BWh in the Köppen climate classification ). The average annual temperature is 26.1 ° C. The average temperature of the coldest month (January) is 20.8 ° С, the hottest month (June) is 30.4 ° С. The estimated long-term rainfall is 160 mm. During the year, the amount of precipitation is unevenly distributed, the bulk of them falls from May to October. Most precipitation falls in August (80 mm) [3] .
Population
According to the 2009 official census, the Bahai population was 27,891 (15,723 men and 12,168 women). Children under the age of 15 years accounted for 40.4% of the total number of residents of the prefecture [4] .
