Biography
Born in 1886 in Zhytomyr to a poor Jewish family, his father was melamed [1] . From eleven years (1897) he worked in a furniture factory.
In 1908 he was drafted into the army. After demobilization - an employee of the Zhytomyr bended furniture factory, organizer of a factory strike. He served in the Russian army during the First World War (1914-1917), then worked in a factory. Member of the Civil War (1919-1920), then an employee of a number of enterprises, the organizer of the working Dimitrov Artel in Zhytomyr. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1932. He was sent to Birobidzhan (1930) - chairman of the Jewish regional cash office of industrial insurance, chairman of the Birobidzhan city council of deputies of workers from October 1938 to October 1939.
He was elected deputy of the Council of Nationalities of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 1st convocation from the Jewish Autonomous Region .
Sons - Abram Izrailevich Goldmaher, a member of the editorial office of the newspaper “ Birobidzhaner Stern ” in Yiddish , a participant in the Great Patriotic War (including the storming of the Reichstag) [2] ; Boris Izrailevich Goldmaher, Head of the Birobidzhan Department of Metrology (Chamber of Weights and Measures, 1947-1969).
