Gradova, Nina Borisovna

Nina Borisovna Gradova (born June 5, 1933 ) is a Russian scientist (microbiology, biotechnology), doctor of biological sciences, professor, laureate of the USSR State Prize (1971). One of the developers of paprine is fodder yeast.

Biography

Born in Kalinin (Tver).

She graduated from the Faculty of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry of the Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K. A. Timiryazev (1957). She worked in an expedition to develop virgin lands and in the Northern Soil Expedition.

Since 1964, after defending a Ph.D. thesis in the specialty "Microbiology", she worked at the Institute of VNII Synthesis Protein: Junior Researcher, Senior Researcher, Head. Laboratory, Deputy Director for Research.

Since 1977 he has been teaching at the Moscow Art Institute, reading a course in microbiology.

Doctor of Biological Sciences (1977), thesis "Physiological Features of Hydrocarbon-Oxidizing Yeast of the Genus CANDIDA and Selection of Production Strains".

Scientific interests:

  • industrial microbiology and biotechnology,
  • microbiological production of protein substances for feed and food purposes,
  • microorganism selection; processes of cultivating microorganisms on various substrates (hydrocarbons, organic acids, carbohydrates, agricultural and industrial wastes).

Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1971), Honored Chemist of the Russian Federation . She was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor .
