It is located on the left bank of the Bityug River , in its lowland, near two channels with the name Gnilushka.

History
It was founded at the beginning of the 18th century by immigrants from the Yelets district of the Oryol province, Lebedyansky district of the Tambov province and Voronezh district. It was part of the Demshinsky district of the Tambov province, Bobrovsky district and the Usman district of the Voronezh province (1923-1928).
