Variety Description
The berries are medium sized, spherical, tender and juicy. The skin is very thin, prone to cracking. The clusters are of medium size, from slightly cylindrical to conical; usually single-shoulder and compact. The average cluster weight is 0.22 pounds. The growth of shoots is intense. Thinning and removal of lateral shoots is recommended. Ninety-nine days from flowering to harvest. The variety is moderately susceptible to Botrytis rot, downy mildew and powdery mildew; slightly susceptible to anthracnose. It is unclear whether it is susceptible to black rot and leaf spot. Wines made by 'St. Croix 'without foksiruyuschy or Labrussky taste. Acidity tends to be moderate. The juice is pale pink, but the wines can be quite dark in color. [3]
In Culture
Ripening berries from late August to mid September in Wisconsin and Iowa . Frost resistance: withstands winter temperature drops to -29 ° C [7] [3] , -32 ° [3] without shelter without invisible damage to trunks or kidneys. The roots are slightly less hardy and in severe winters require snow cover [3] .
